Theres still maybe two upgrades left for me in Uld 10, but my Best In Slot is way beyond that. However, unless the guild starts running the raids beyond Uld10, I don't get them. So BIS doesnt work for me - in order to actually get the gear I need, I need to be able to roll on stuff thats an upgrade, no matter how small it is.
Unfortunately, our current raiding system is based around getting people to make selfish decisions, as seen from your own post for ToTGC. Last week, I passed two upgrades from TOC to Aski that would have gotten me close enough to the 2500 gearscore, but were more suited to her than me. This week, I didn't get invited to TOC. By saying I need to hit the 2500 gearscore to apply, you're telling me I should have made a more selfish decision and not passed, in order to keep myself in a progression group.
So yes, on the one hand, what you're suggesting here is great, but *only* if raids can be organised in-guild in a better manner than they currently are, so people don't feel they *have* to be selfish.
I used to criticise the system my old guild had, but at least they understood that a group that raids together stays together and looks after its members, and progresses as a group, rather than as individuals. Perhaps if that was more widely understood here, systems such as BIS would work a lot better. As it is, we're currently driven to grab what we can when we can, because it might be the only chance we get, and the people that are more selfish with gear will end up in the progression raids.
