DBD RebornPosted by SiloveflaxOctober 8, 2009 at 3:15 pmLadies and Gentlemen of Dead Before Dawn, as you all know by now there have been some massive changes in DBD recently. We purged a great deal of our roster, as a way to focus more on the raiding direction we are currently going in. Here's a quick update on the raiding scene for DBD.
Trial of The Crusader: Right now, several of our members are in a group with one or two outside of the guild friends. Within the next month or two, we will be moving on to Grand Crusader. At this time, we will be starting a new ToTC group, with strictly guild members. Right now, the roster for that group is still in the air. The time slot will most likely remain the same, but will possibly be earlier. Right now, we do ToTC at 9:00 PM server, which is pretty late. If everyone is able, the run will be moved up a few hours. If you have ANY interest in attending this run, please mail me (Siloveflax) PERSONALLY. Please only send a mail of interest if you'd be able to make this hours -every- Saturday (with some obvious exceptions).
Ulduar: Our Ulduar group has progressed greatly in the past month or two, and I fully intend for that to continue. Within the next few weeks, I will be reworking the roster again to get more guild members exposed to the content. I realize we are currently on Mimiron as far as progression goes, but the purpose of rotating people out this early in the game is to see what guild members are capable of. Anyone who is put out of Ulduar for a week or two is not being punished, so do not take it that way.
Naxxramas: For all those who intend to mail me letters of interest for Ulduar or Trial of The Crusader, I highly suggest you begin attending some of Lexxe's Naxx runs. That is the best and fastest way to find yourself into a group for one of our progression raids.
On a side note, right now Dead Before Dawn isn't actively seeking out just any new players like we were before. However, if you have a friend who is interested in raiding, and would be able to work with our weekend heavy schedule, please refer them to me. With our new raid-heavy focus, I'd like to begin getting enough people for 25mans.
Peace, yo.
The Raid Leading King God of Dead Before Dawn (TRLKGDBD), Siloveflax Raid Related AnnouncementPosted by MailiAugust 26, 2009 at 9:56 am
Ladies and Gentlemen, hopefully all of you can understand and appreciate all of the work our current Raid Leader has put into the planning and execution of our raids thus far. Generally most guilds employ at least two people in this one position and Kiddveflax has been handling it on his own for quite some time now. However, we have finally decided to give him a bit of help. Please join me in welcoming the "newest" member of the Dead Before Dawn team: Siloveflax. As most of you know Silo was the founder of DBD. After taking some much needed time off to actually enjoy the game, he has finally accepted his new position; Raid Leader. Silo and Kidd will be co-leading our Uld 10 raids from this point on. With their combined knowledge of the game, unique views on raiding and a firm hand, I am confident that they will work together to ensure that our progression raids..well....progress! There are some changes forthcoming. As their first order of business Silo and Kidd will be taking a slighty revised group into Uld 10 this Sunday. The roster will be posted here later today and invites are already being sent out ingame. Please keep in mind that this is simply a test run, we may be doing a few of these runs, in order to figure out what works best for the guild. Any and all questions and concerns as far as DBD raiding go, need to be directed to Kiddveflax or Siloveflax. PINK text ftw!!!
New RanksPosted by SiloveflaxAugust 23, 2009 at 4:06 pmAs all of you have noticed by now, we have a new ranking system. It goes as follows.
Initiate: This is the rank players begin at when they enter the guild. ALL new players will spend a week under this rank, before being moved ahead. After their seven days, they must inform an Officer if they plan to raid or not in the guild.
Development: This rank is for members in the guild past their seven day trial that are not yet level 80. This rank will be changed once the player reaches 80.
Alt: Duh.
Civilian: This rank is for level 80 players past their seven day trial that do NOT wish to raid in guild.
Evaluation: This rank is for level 80 players who have selected to raid in guild. It is the first in a chain of three ranks. The evaluation rank represents a player whose skill or gear is under evaluation. When the Raid Leader decides the time is right, they will be promoted.
Showing Promise: This is the next step for the Raiders. This rank is given to those who show promise as raiders. Anyone under the Showing Promise rank must display the ability to grasp the different elements of raiding, including proper gearing, speccing, raid behavior, and learning the strategies for fights.
Raider: This rank is for a player who has mastered all of the things listed in Showing Promise. They bring their A game to EVERY raid, give it their best, and think of the entire raid group, not just themselves. They have the ability to take Grobbulous' cloud to the edge of the wall, they know when to get on Hodir's mounds of snow and when NOT to get on them. These players rarely AFK in raids, and are almost always on time. They strive to be damn good at what they do. The Raider rank is given only to those who have proven themselves, and can do so again at any time. Raid AbsencePosted by KiddveflaxAugust 11, 2009 at 3:06 am

Guild Meeting Notes, 11 AugustPosted by AlelsaAugust 10, 2009 at 8:50 pmThe Guild PolicyPosted by SiloveflaxJune 14, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again time to revise our guild policy! Below is the updated policy. You don't need to sign off on it, but every player will be expected to be familiar with the content inside.
Ladies and gentlemen..Welcome..to Dead Before Dawn. Dead Before Dawn is a constantly growing and evolving guild with a full staff, each with specific tasks that aid in the progression of our guild. Our primary focus of bringing in and training new players has not changed over time, and we now raid several days out of the week. We welcome you to step into our guild, meet our members, and have a good time! All updates in regards to the guild will be posted on this website, and announced on the main page! Below is the policy of Dead Before Dawn, which all new members must sign off on via a reply. STAFF MEMBERS: Guild Leader/Marshal General - Maili Admin(Officers) - Askihandi, Kiddveflax, Siloveflax Admin. Assistants- Alelsa, Mizzie RANKS: 1. Guild Leader/Marshal General - Leader of the guild. 2. Admin- The officers directly under Guild Leader. 3. Admin Assistant-Take care of Guild tech issues as well as recruiting. 4. Raider - Granted to dedicated Raiders of the guild. 5. Showing Promise-Guild members that are working their way up to raiding and have shown they are capable. 6. Evaluation-Guild members that have just hit 80 and are still getting raid ready. 7.Civilian- Guild members that do not wish to raid with the guild. 8.Alt- duh 9.Developmental-Guild members that are currently under level 80.
ENTRY TO THE GUILD: In order to become a member of Dead Before Dawn, you must be interviewed and invited into the guild by one of the three staff members (Maili, Askihandi, Darklighter). If one of these three people are not on when you wish to be interviewed, please mail one of them with your name, expressing your interest. They will get back in touch with you shortly. Before entering the guild, a player must acknowledge that they have read this guild policy, else they will not be invited. All of the rules in this policy must be understood, and 'I didn't know' will never be an excuse. Upon being interviewed and reading the policy, you will be invited into Dead Before Dawn.PROMOTIONS: Once you are welcomed into Dead Before Dawn, you will enter at the Initiate rank. This is basically a trial rank for all new members, don't expect to be there long. After a week or two, one of the Staff members will promote you. If you notice you've been a New Recruit longer then a couple of weeks, get in touch with a staff member and let them know. Once you are promoted, you will be raised to the rank that best fits your character at that moment. GENERAL RULES Rule 1. GQuitting is not considered funny or amusing. If you Gquit the guild, you will not be welcomed back. The only exceptions to this rule is if you are temporarily removing a character to sign a friends charter with intention to return to the guild, or have previously discussed a reason for leaving temporarily with an Officer, and they have approved it. If a player Gquits for ANY reason without first speaking to an officer, they will not be welcomed back.Rule 2. The Guild Line is UNCENSORED. Everyone has a right to his/her opinions, and therefore will be respectful of others. Rule 3. As members of Dead Before Dawn, you represent the guild with all of your actions. All guild members are expected to conduct themselves in a polite, mature manner in any and all settings outside of the guild activities.(PuG groups/instances and the like) Rule 4. Attacking a fellow guild member publically (on guild line) will not be tolerated. If a conflict arises and it cannot be resolved between the parties please talk to an officer and they will do their best to mediate the situation and offer a resolution. THE GUILD BANK: Dead Before Dawn has a six tab guild bank, each tab clearly labeled so there is no confusion as to what goes where. Developmental and up have access to Tabs 1-5, and only Officers have access to Tab 6. Keep in mind while using the guild bank that it is for EVERYONE! If you take something out, please be kind enough to replace it soon, if not then, with something of equal value, even if that donation is in the form of gold. The more useful items in the bank, the easier it will be for our members to progress! If the guild bank is abused in ANY way, shape or form (withdrawing extreme amounts of money, taking a lot of items, sending items to non guild members, etc.) you will be demoted until the punishing Officer decides on a further punishment, or sees fit to return you to your rank. Your entire rank could also suffer in loss of privilages such as not being able to repair from the guild bank for a time. It is perfectly fine to use the bank funds for repairs but this should be paid back as soon as possible. THE WEBSITE: DEADBEFOREDAWN.WOWSTEAD.COM 1. When a new player joins the guild, they must immediately visit the website and register, as well as read this policy. Keep in mind when creating a character to use for the DBD website, use the name of the character you have IN GUILD. 2. There are two different ways to join the guild website. The first of which is to fill out an application under the Recruiting section, then wait for it to be approved. The alternative method is to create your account and character, then go to the Character Management section of your account on the Dead Before Dawn website. It will give you to the option to "Join This Guild", and prompt you for a password. The password is "alala", exactly as shown. GROUPING POLICY: There has been a lot of confusion about the instancing rules in Dead Before Dawn. When you are involved in a group with other guild members, here's how it goes. 1. GREENS Greens are free game. If a green drops, everyone is expected to roll Greed for it. If it just happens to be an upgrade for you, then Need the item. You are not required to pass on a green and roll afterwards. 2. PASS, THEN ROLL. If an item of Blue quality or greater drops, the players in the group will all pass on the item. Afterwards, the players will ask if anyone needs the item, and find out who it is an upgrade for. If more than one person wants the item, then they will roll for it (via the /roll command), and the highest roll takes the item. You are NEVER to need or greed on an item blue or above. 3. BE POLITE! When in a group with guild members, or PuG members especially, it is VERY IMPORTANT to be polite to the people involved at ALL times. No name calling or "You Fucked Up!" chants if something happens. It's just a game. Have fun with it. NOTE: The loot rules above do NOT apply to Raids. Those rules are listed seperately under the Raid Policy. SCHEDULED EVENTS: Dead Before Dawn's calendar is always full of events for members to sign up to, be it a game of trivia, some RP, or a raid. Make sure that you KNOW you will be able to attend the event BEFORE you sign up. If you sign up for an event and no-show, you will be punished. We allow up to three chances, each resulting in a different punishment. First No-Show: A Verbal Warning by the Event Leader Second No-Show: Final Warning by the Event Leader Third No-Show: Gkick. Some exceptions ARE made. Hell, things happen in life that are much more important than a game. However, we request that if you are ever unable to attend an event you have signed for, let the Event Leader know as far ahead of time as possible. Page 1
